K.Kothapalli R.C.M School

Out here in K.Kothapalli, things move a bit slower than in the big cities. K.Kothapalli R.C.M School has been part of this community for a long time. You can find us easily enough in the Kadapa district. The building is a simple structure that has seen a lot of weather over the years. We have a few trees in the courtyard where students like to sit when it’s not too hot outside. Every morning starts with the sound of the children gathering and talking. We don’t have much in the way of high-tech gadgets; it’s mostly just books, chalk, and hard work. The teachers spend their breaks sitting in the small staff area, usually drinking tea and talking about the day’s lessons or their own families. We have to deal with the heat quite a bit in this part of Andhra Pradesh, so the fans are always running at full speed during the day. Sometimes the water pump acts up and we have to get someone to come and look at it. It’s just part of the daily job. The classrooms have high ceilings which helps a bit with the air circulation. We keep the registers updated by hand and try to make sure the kids stay focused on their studies. It’s a very local place. Most of the parents are people we see every day at the local market or near the bus stop. We just aim to provide a steady place for learning here in the village.
