Ambuja Cements

Our office is located at Ajit Pratap Singh Quarters, specifically number F-9 in the South Colony of Ambuja Nagar. This is down in Kodinar, which is in the Junagadh district of Gujarat. It is quite a specific spot to find, but once you are in the South Colony, it’s easy enough to spot our block. We handle the local operations for the cement works here, which means a lot of coordinating with the plant and the transport teams. The air here has that coastal feel to it, and sometimes you can smell the salt when the wind blows the right way. Our workspace is pretty lived-in. We have posters on the walls and stacks of paper everywhere. It’s a very practical environment where the focus is on getting the work done rather than how the office looks. We spend our days tracking the movement of trucks and filling out various forms for the state authorities. It’s a bit of a trek to the main part of Junagadh, so we mostly stay around the colony for everything we need. The people working here are all locals or have lived here so long they might as well be. We have our routines, like the mid-morning tea break and the afternoon lull when it gets too hot to do much. It’s just a steady, regular job in a part of Gujarat that stays busy year-round.
