You can find us at the CCR Building in Ambujanagar, which is part of the Taluka Kodinar area in the Junagadh district. This is where the project engineers for Ambuja Cements spend most of their time. It’s a bit of a trek to get out here if you aren't from the area, but it’s right in the middle of where the action happens. The office is right there on the site, so you can always hear the hum of the plant and see the workers moving around. We mostly deal with the technical side of things, like planning the projects and making sure the engineering stays on track. It gets quite dusty around here, which is just part of working at a cement plant in Gujarat. The sun can be really strong in the afternoons. We have a lot of maps and blueprints lying around on the tables. It’s not a quiet office by any means. There’s always someone coming in with a question or a problem that needs fixing. We drink a lot of chai to keep ourselves going during the long shifts. It’s a rugged kind of workplace but we are used to it. The state of Gujarat has been our home for a long time and we know these roads and sites like the back of our hands. We just focus on the task at hand and try to stay productive despite the heat and the constant noise.
