Ambuja Cements Limited

You can find us over at House Number E/44 in the South Colony of Ambujanagar. It is right in the heart of the Taluka Kodinar area, and it is a pretty busy little hub for the Junagadh district. The house itself has been converted into a workspace where we manage the local side of the cement business. It feels very lived-in, with old wooden cupboards full of files and a few mismatched chairs for visitors. The garden out front is mostly just dry grass and some hardy plants that can survive the Gujarat heat. We usually have the radio playing quietly in the background while we work through the morning mail and the shipping schedules. It is a very local operation; we know the families living in the next few houses and we often share lunch or a snack. The 362715 area is quiet at night, but during the day, it is all about the movement of material and people. We do not have a receptionist or anything like that, you just walk in and someone will help you out. It is the kind of place where the floor gets swept twice a day and still feels like there is sand on it by the afternoon. We just focus on the task at hand and try to stay cool when the sun is at its peak. It is a steady, no-nonsense kind of life for us here.
