Vishwakarma Art Gallery

You can find Vishwakarma Art Gallery at 8, Digvijay Nagar on Pal Road. It’s not one of those high-end galleries where you have to whisper. We’ve got frames and canvases leaning against almost every wall. Some of them have been here for a long time. The floor is made of tile and it’s a bit worn down in the spots where people stand the most. We do a lot of our own framing in the back room, so there are usually bits of wood and glass offcuts on the floor until we sweep up at night. Pal Road is usually pretty busy, so we get a fair amount of people walking in just to see what’s new. We don’t change the window display as often as we probably should. It’s mostly just me and one assistant handling everything from the sales to the cleaning. We have some regular customers from the neighborhood who stop in just to chat about what they’re working on. The lighting is okay, but we could probably use a few more lamps in the darker corners. We don’t have a website or anything like that. People just know we are here. It’s a bit disorganized at times, especially when a lot of work comes in at once, but we manage to keep track of it all. It’s a lived-in space that feels more like a workshop than a formal shop. We just stay busy with the frames.
