We’ve been here at 65-B Bank Colony for a while now. It’s a busy spot in Rai Ka Bagh. Most days we are just busy with the woodwork and the painting. People come in looking for specific things for their homes. We don't really have a fancy office or anything like that. It's mostly sawdust and the smell of fresh paint around here. It gets pretty hot in the afternoons, but we keep working through it. We handle a lot of traditional designs. It's just what we know how to do. My father started this kind of work, and now we just keep it going as best as we can. There is nothing too complicated about it. We just make sure things look right before they leave the shop floor. Sometimes a piece takes longer than expected because the wood is stubborn or the detail is tricky. We don't like to rush it much. Rai Ka Bagh is a good area to be in, with lots of people passing by our door. We see the same faces often. If you walk past Bank Colony, you'll likely hear us hammering away or see us loading up a truck. It’s hard work, but it keeps us busy. We don't spend money on big signs. The work speaks for itself usually. If someone wants something made, we talk it over, draw a bit, and then get to it. That's just how it goes here at Shekhawati Art.
