Our workshop is located at C -97 in Basni Iind Phase. If you know the area, we are right across from the Balaji Dharam Kanta, which is a big landmark for the trucks coming through. We are tucked into Gali No. 6. It’s a busy street and there is always something going on outside our door. Inside, we are mostly focused on the art pieces we work on. It isn’t a gallery or anything like that. It’s more of a workspace where things get dusty and there are scraps of material lying around. We spend a lot of time on our stools hunched over the benches. The light in the morning is usually when we can see the small details the clearest. Sometimes we have tea brought in from the stall down the road while we discuss what needs to be finished by the end of the week. Basni can be a bit loud with all the industrial activity, but once you’re inside the shop, you sort of tune it out. We’ve been at this for a while now. Most of us have lived in the neighborhood or close by for years. We just show up, do the work, and go home. It’s a straightforward way to earn a living and it feels good to see a project finally get finished and packed up. It's not always easy work, and sometimes the materials don't behave, but we get through the day.
