The Shanti Niketan School

The Shanti Niketan School is located on the Old Sardarsamand Road in Jhalamand, Jodhpur. It’s tucked away a bit from the main city noise, which is nice for the kids. People often call us an elite school because of the address, but to us, it’s just the place where we work every day. The road outside can get a bit busy with people heading towards Jodhpur, but inside the gates, it’s usually just the sound of kids playing or studying. We have a decent amount of space here in 342005. The building is solid and we try to keep the paint fresh when we can afford the time. Jodhpur weather is tough on buildings, so there is always something to fix, like a leaky tap or a door that won’t shut right. We don't have a big corporate office telling us what to do. It’s mostly just the staff here figuring things out as we go. We make sure the students have their books and that they are actually learning something useful. Sometimes we have small events for the parents, but nothing too flashy. Most families around Jhalamand know us well. We’ve been here long enough that we are seeing the children of our first students starting to come here now. It makes you feel old, but it’s good to see that continuity. We just keep things moving, one day at a time, making sure the gates are locked at night.
