Shree Shankar Lakshmi Laaj

Jodhpur is a dusty place sometimes, especially out here on Chopasni Road. We are located near the Vinayak Vihar Gate, not too far from the Dali Bai Chauraha. If you are driving on the Jaisalmer Highway, you will probably see our building. It is just a simple laaj for travelers and people who need a place to crash for the night. We have been here for a while now. It is not like those big hotels in the middle of the city with all the fancy lights and carpets. We keep things pretty basic around here because that is what people expect when they are traveling through. The highway stays busy at all hours. You can hear the trucks passing by if you sit outside in the evenings. Sometimes the power goes out, but we have a generator. We don't have a big staff, just a few local guys who help with the cleaning and the front desk. People usually stop here because it is convenient being right on the road. We try to keep the rooms tidy and the water running. It is a tough business sometimes, but we are used to it by now. Jodhpur heat is no joke, so we do our best to keep things cool for the guests. There is nothing much more to say. We are just a local spot on the highway where you can get some rest before moving on. That is us.
