Shree Karni Organic Farms Private Limited is out in Pokran, specifically at Nehru Colony. The office is at Plot No 53, and it’s run by Jawahir Singh’s son. Pokran is a tough place for farming because it’s so dry, but we make it work with organic methods. We’ve had to learn a lot about how to save water and keep the soil healthy without using the heavy stuff. It’s a quiet area, and Nehru Colony is mostly just families and small businesses. We don't have a big staff. It’s mostly just a few of us who care about how food is grown. We spend a lot of time out on the actual farms, so the office is often empty during the day. If you come by in the evening, you’ll find us there. We started this because we wanted to do things differently than the big commercial farms. It hasn't been easy, and we’ve made plenty of mistakes along the way. Sometimes the crops don't turn out like we hoped. But we keep trying. People in Pokran are used to hard conditions, so we don't complain much. We just focus on the organic side of things and hope for the best each season. It’s a simple life and a simple business. We don't have anything fancy to offer, just the results of our hard work in the desert soil.
