Praveen Arts

Praveen Arts is located in Jodhpur, right inside the Jalori Gate area. We are quite close to Pushtikar School. If you’ve ever been to the old part of Jodhpur, you know the streets can be narrow and very busy with people, rickshaws, and the occasional cow. Our shop has been here for a long time. It’s filled with all kinds of art pieces and local crafts. We don’t have a website with a shopping cart; we mostly just talk to people who walk through the door. The walls are covered with things we’ve made or found. It’s a bit dusty because the old city is just like that, but we try to keep the pieces clean. We spend a lot of time sitting on the floor or on small stools, working on various items. There is always the sound of the city outside—horns honking and people shouting. It’s a lively place to work. We know most of the shopkeepers on the street, and we often share a tea in the afternoons. Our focus is on the traditional arts that Jodhpur is known for. We don’t use big machines; it’s mostly handwork. Sometimes a customer wants something specific and we see if we can manage it. It’s a simple life and we enjoy the process of making things.
