Our place, Life Like Art, is tucked away in Shiv Nagar in the Mahamandir area at Anand Niketan. It’s a house that we’ve basically turned into a studio over the years. You have to walk through the main gate and past the small garden to get to where we do most of the work. Inside, it’s a bit of a jumble. There are sketches pinned to the walls and half-finished projects sitting on every flat surface. We don’t really follow a strict schedule. If the mood is right, we might work late into the night. Other days, we might just spend the morning cleaning our brushes or organizing the supplies. The light in Mahamandir is quite good in the morning, which helps when we are doing the fine details. We have a cat that wanders in and out, usually sleeping on one of the chairs we need. The neighborhood is mostly families, so you hear kids playing outside and the occasional temple bell. It’s a very grounded place to be. We aren't trying to be some high-end gallery. We just want to make things that look real. Sometimes the paint spills or a piece doesn't turn out right, and we just start over. It’s a slow process, but we aren't in a hurry. Most of the time, we are just happy to be creating something in our own little corner of the world. It is a quiet life.
