K. Home Appliances

You can find us over at 47 Vikas Colony on the Paota 'C' Road. It is a bit of a crowded street and parking is always a headache for everyone including me. The shop is called K. Home Appliances but it is really just a place where we keep a lot of spare parts and some new stoves. I have been sitting behind this counter for a long time and I know where every single screw is kept even if it looks like a mess to anyone else walking in. People come in with broken heaters or mixers that have stopped working and I just take a look at them. Sometimes I can fix it right there and other times they have to leave it for a week because I am waiting on a part to come in the mail. My hands are usually a bit greasy from working on the burners. We don’t do any big advertisements or anything like that because word of mouth usually brings people in from the neighborhood. The shelves are sagging a bit under the weight of the old inventory but I don’t like throwing things away if they might be useful later. It gets quite warm in the afternoons when the sun hits the front window but we just pull the shutter down halfway and keep working. It is just a regular life here on the road. We try to help everyone who walks through the door.
