We are located at 86 Jawahar Colony, which is right on Central School Road here in Ratanada. James Andrew Newton Art Exports Pvt. Ltd. is essentially a place of transition. We have things coming in from local makers and then we get them ready to go out to other places. The building is often filled with wooden crates and packing materials like bubble wrap and tape. It’s not the most beautiful place to look at, but it serves its purpose. We spend a lot of time making sure things are wrapped up tight so they don't break during the long trips they take. The heat in Ratanada can be a bit much in the summer, so we try to get the heavy lifting done early in the day. It’s a small team here. We all know each other’s names and how we like our coffee. We don’t really have a sales floor or a gallery. It’s more of a hub for moving art and objects. Sometimes we get some really interesting pieces through the door that make everyone stop and look for a minute before we pack them away. We’ve been at this for some time now, and the neighbors in Jawahar Colony are used to seeing the delivery vans pulling up. We just keep our heads down and make sure the cargo is ready when the trucks arrive. It’s steady work and it keeps us busy.
