We’ve been here at D-160 in Shastri Nagar for a while now. It’s a busy spot, especially in the mornings when the street wakes up and the local shops start opening their shutters. Balancing the hotel side of things with the export side of the business keeps us on our toes most days. One minute we’re checking if the rooms are ready for a guest and the next we’re looking over shipping papers for some order going out. It’s not a fancy glass building or anything like that. It is just a solid, practical place where we get the work done. Some days the phones don’t stop ringing and other days it’s just the sound of the ceiling fans. We deal with all sorts of people coming through the doors. Some stay for a night or two and others are here to talk business about the goods we send out. Shastri Nagar is a good area to be in because everything is close by, but the traffic can be a real headache around lunch time. We’ve got a small team and we’ve all known each other for years. It’s mostly just making sure the guests are comfortable and the crates are packed right in the back. Sometimes we grab tea from the stall down the road when things get too hectic. It’s a lot of physical work, moving bags or checking inventory. We don't have a big corporate office. You just walk in and someone will help you. That’s how we’ve always done it.
