Aardi International School

Out here in Banar, near the bypass road, you’ll find Aardi International School. It’s a bit away from the main rush of Jodhpur, which is actually quite nice because it’s quieter. We’ve been set up here for some time now. The school is right in the village post area. It’s a large space. We have children coming in from all over the nearby villages and some from the city too. The road can get a bit dusty when the wind picks up, which is common in Rajasthan. We have the usual school building with plenty of rooms for the different grades. Most of the people working here are locals from the Banar area. We spend a lot of time just making sure the kids are in their seats and doing their work. There is a lot of space for them to run around during the breaks. It’s not a corporate office; it’s a school with dirt on the playground and noisy hallways. We try to keep things simple. Parents often stop by on their way home to talk to us. We handle everything from the little ones starting out to the older students. It’s a lot of work keeping a place this size running day to day. We don't use big words to describe what we do. It’s just about getting the kids through their lessons and making sure the building stays standing. It gets hot in the afternoons but we have fans in all the rooms. We just keep at it every day.
