The Shakahari

The Shakahari is located on Katcheri Sadar Road in the Sadar Bazar area of Jhansi. We’ve been sitting right opposite the Gun House for a long time, and most people around here know us as a reliable spot for a vegetarian meal. We don't do any meat here, and we never have. It’s a busy part of town, so there is always a lot of movement outside our doors. Inside, it’s pretty straightforward with wooden tables and basic decor. We aren't trying to win any design awards; we just want a place that’s functional and clean for our customers. The lunch hour is usually our busiest time because of all the people working in the nearby courts and offices. It can get pretty loud with the clinking of plates and people talking over each other, but that’s the way we like it. We get our vegetables fresh every day from the local market, and you can really tell the difference in the food. Our menu is full of things we’ve been cooking for years. We don’t have a fancy manager in a suit; it’s just the owner and the kitchen staff making sure everything runs okay. Sometimes the service gets a bit rushed when the place is full, but we try to get the food out hot as fast as we can. It’s just an honest, local eatery where you can get a good meal without spending a fortune.
