Piya Restaurant

Manik Chowk is a very busy area of Jhansi, and that is where Piya Restaurant is. We are right near the District Hospital and the Minerva Chauraha. There is always noise from the street, horns honking and people talking loudly. Our place is simple. We have the usual tables and chairs and a small kitchen in the back. I usually get here early to start the day. The hospital brings a lot of people to this part of town, so we see all kinds of faces. Some look tired, others are just passing through the chowk. We try to keep the water jugs filled and the floor swept. It is a lot of work running a place in 284002. The kitchen can get cramped when we have three people working at once. We do not have a big menu, just what we can make well. Sometimes the power goes out for a bit, but we keep going. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but they have character. We are just a local spot for a quick meal. You won't find any fancy uniforms here. We just wear what is comfortable for working in the heat. It is honest work and it keeps the family going. Being near the Minerva Chauraha means we are right in the middle of everything, which is exactly how we like it. We just keep the pots moving and the customers fed as they pass through.
