Smt.Vidyawati College

Smt.Vidyawati College is located out in Gora Machhiya on the Kanpur Road in Jhansi. It’s a bit away from the main city center, so it feels a little more open out here. We have college-aged students coming in for their lectures from different parts of the district. The building is a solid structure with several wings for different departments. Since it’s a college, the atmosphere is a bit different than a primary school; things are a little quieter in the halls, though the canteen is always loud. We have a few patches of green around the buildings where students sit during their free time. The classrooms are basic with long benches and plenty of windows. In Jhansi, the summers are incredibly hot, so we all feel it during those months. We have a library that’s usually full of people studying when exams are coming up. Our staff consists of professors and office workers who have been here for various amounts of time. It’s a simple place without much in the way of decoration. We focus on the lectures and making sure the students have what they need to study. You’ll often see groups of students walking along Kanpur Road to catch a bus or an auto-rickshaw after their classes are done. It’s just a regular local college where people come to get their degrees and move on to the next part of their lives. We keep the gates open and the lights on, doing our part.
