Our office for The Telegraph is located in Sonari at D/32, A/B. It’s a basic building in a residential part of Jamshedpur, so it doesn't really stand out much from the other houses on the block. Most of the action happens here in the afternoons and late evenings when the news starts coming in. We have a few computers set up and there is usually a lot of paper scattered around. Journalists come in after spending the day out in the city, and they sit down to type up what they’ve seen. You can hear the clicking of keys and people talking on their mobiles. We deal with everything from local events in Jharkhand to bigger stories happening across India. It’s a bit of a squeeze sometimes when everyone is in the office at once. The light isn't the best, but we make it work. We aren't a big flashy media hub; we are just the local branch making sure the paper gets put together every day. Sometimes the delivery guys come in early to get their routes sorted for the next morning. There’s a lot of coffee and tea consumed here to keep everyone going. We’ve been at this Sonari address for a while, and the neighbors are used to the odd hours we keep. It’s a busy environment but we try to keep things grounded and just focus on getting the facts onto the page before the deadline hits.
