The Regent Hotel,India

You can find us over at 36/A in C-Block, right on Vivekanand Path. This is the Bagunnagar part of Baridih. We have been here for a long time, running this hotel for whoever needs a place to stay. It is a straightforward building on a street that stays pretty active. We don't have any of those fancy bells and whistles you see in the big city hotels. It is just a local place with rooms that we keep as clean as we can. We do the work ourselves, from checking people in at the desk to making sure the rooms are ready for the next person. Baridih is a busy area, and we fit right into the neighborhood. People come here for all sorts of reasons—weddings, local business, or just visiting relatives nearby. We try to be helpful without being in the way. If the plumbing has a problem, we get a wrench and fix it. If someone needs an extra blanket, we find one. It’s just how we operate. We don’t have a mission statement or a fancy handbook. We just believe in doing a day’s work and providing a solid place to sleep. It’s been our life for years, and we know the area like the back of our hands. Most days are just spent keeping the place running smoothly. It’s not a glamorous job, but it’s ours and we take it seriously enough.
