Cook Tek

Our place, Cook Tek, is tucked away in B Block over in Christian Basti. It’s right near the airport in Sonari, so we hear the planes fairly often while we’re working. We’ve been operating out of this spot for a while now, focusing on getting meals ready for folks who need them. It isn't a big flashy operation. We have our kitchen set up and a few tables where we organize everything before it goes out. Working in Sonari is nice because it feels like a real community. People stop by or we see them while we're loading up the vans. The team here is small, just a handful of us who know our way around a kitchen. We don't spend money on fancy advertisements or big signs. Most people hear about us from their neighbors or friends who live near Christian Basti. We just focus on the cooking part of the business. Every morning starts pretty early here with getting the supplies delivered and starting the prep work. It’s a lot of peeling, cutting, and stirring. We don't try to make things more complicated than they need to be. If the food is good and people are fed, then we've done what we set out to do. Sometimes it’s hot in the kitchen and the days are long, but we just keep at it. It's an honest living and we're glad to be doing it here in this part of town. We just keep our heads down and cook and make sure everything is sorted out for the customers.
