Shriji Marbles & Ceramics

Our shop is tucked away at Door No. B-31 in the GIDC area of Udyog Nagar. If you’re coming down Hirji Mistry Road, you’ll find us right in the middle of all the industrial noise. It’s not the quietest place to work, but it’s where everything happens. We handle a lot of marble and ceramic pieces every day. It’s heavy stuff, so there is always a lot of lifting and moving around. My hands are usually covered in some kind of dust by noon. We’ve been in this spot for a good bit of time. The industrial estate has changed a lot, with new neighbors moving in and out, but we stayed put. We don’t really do much advertising; mostly it’s just people who know we are here or were told by a friend. We have rows of slabs and boxes piled up. Sometimes it’s a bit of a maze to find exactly what a customer wants, but we know where everything is. The office is small and usually has some papers flying around when the fan is on high. We just focus on getting the orders right and making sure the trucks are loaded properly. It’s straightforward work. We don’t have any big speeches to give about what we do. We just open the shutters in the morning, do the work, and go home when the sun goes down. It is a decent way to spend the day for us.
