Sai Marble

Sai Marble is located out in Village Padana, which is part of Taluka Lalpur. It is a bit quieter here than in the big cities, but we still stay plenty busy with all the work. The yard is quite large because land isn't as tight as it is in the middle of town. We have slabs of stone spread out everywhere. Most of the people who come to see us are locals from the surrounding villages or people sent by builders in Lalpur. We spend the day moving the stock around with the hoist. It’s hard work and the weather can be a bit rough during the summer months. There isn't much shade out in the yard, so we stay in the small cabin when things slow down. We’ve been operating out of Village Padana for a while now. People know to come here when they need something for their floors or kitchens. We don't have any fancy brochures. We just show people the actual stone and they pick what they like. It’s a very basic way of doing things. Sometimes the trucks take a while to find us because we’re a bit off the main track, but once they get here, it’s all about loading them up safely. We like being in the village. It feels more personal when you know almost everyone who walks through the gate.
