If you go down to the Grain Market, you’ll find us right in front of the Chamber of Commerce. We’ve been Mahesh Kumar & Brothers for a long time, and the family has always been involved. The market is a loud place, especially early in the mornings when the trucks start rolling in. There's a lot of shouting, dust, and the smell of grain everywhere. It’s not the kind of place for someone who likes a quiet office. Our space is functional—desks, chairs, and stacks of ledgers. We deal with farmers and traders all day long. Some days are slow, but when the harvest comes in, it's total chaos. We don’t have a fancy website or a marketing department. We just talk to people face to face. Being across from the Chamber of Commerce is handy because that's where all the big meetings happen. We’ve seen the market change from horses and carts to big modern lorries. Our father used to run things differently, but the core is the same. You buy, you sell, you make sure the weights are right. Sometimes we share a meal in the back when things quiet down in the afternoon. It’s a lot of hard work and long hours, but it’s what we know. The floors are rarely clean because of all the boots coming through, but that's just part of being in the grain trade. We just do our bit every day and keep the business moving as it should.
