We are over at Plot No. 3081 in Phase III of GIDC Dared. Brasstech Engineering Pvt Ltd is mainly about working with brass and other metals. It’s a bit of a trek to get out here if you aren't used to the industrial zones. The air always smells a bit like hot metal. We have several lathes and milling machines that we keep running most of the day. There’s a lot of shavings on the floor by the time we pack up in the evening. We make small parts, mostly connectors and fittings that go into bigger machines. It’s repetitive work but someone has to do it. We don't have a fancy showroom. If you visit, you’ll just see us in our overalls working. We handle the paperwork ourselves in a small office near the entrance. Sometimes the phone rings off the hook and other days it’s quiet enough to hear the birds outside. We’ve had some of the same customers since we first opened the doors. They know we just do the work and don't make a big deal out of things. We aren't trying to change the world, just trying to make good parts that stay together. Dared is a tough place to work sometimes because of the dust, but we’ve made a decent life here. We just keep our heads down and stay focused on what is in front of us.
