Jay Engineering

Our workshop is out on Udyognagar Main Road, specifically at 7 Krishna Colony, Plot 58. Jamnagar is a place where everyone knows about engineering and metalwork, so we fit right in. Digvijay Plot is a busy area, and there’s always the sound of metal hitting metal coming from one shop or another. At Jay Engineering, we handle a lot of the standard stuff that comes through an industrial area. We’ve got our lathes and our drills, and they’ve been working hard for years. The floor is covered in metal shavings, no matter how much we sweep it at the end of the shift. We aren't a big firm with a board of directors. It’s just a few of us who know how to read a drawing and turn it into a real part. The sun hits the front of the shop pretty hard in the morning, so we usually have the big doors wide open. We talk to the guys from the other plots while we’re loading up the trucks. It’s a tough way to make a living sometimes, especially when it’s hot, but we like the work. We don't make big promises, we just produce the parts and make sure they fit. It can get pretty oily in here, and we usually have grease under our fingernails, but that's just the nature of the job.
