Shalimar Travels

We have been here at Shop No 6 for quite a while now. If you have been to the General Bus Stand in Jammu, you probably walked past us a dozen times without even looking up. That is just how it is here. It is a busy spot, always noisy with buses pulling in and out. We spend most of our day sitting in the shop, talking to people who need to get somewhere else. It might be a quick trip or something longer, but we just try to get the paperwork sorted so they can get on their way. Being right in the middle of everything means we see a lot of faces. Some are regulars and some are just passing through once. We know the routes around Jammu pretty well because we live here and work here every single day. It is not a fancy office, just a small shop where we keep the logs and take calls. Sometimes the phone rings off the hook and other times it is quiet enough to drink a cup of chai in peace. We don't do much fancy talking. If you need a ticket or a seat booked, we look at the schedule and tell you what is available. That is basically the whole story. We keep the doors open, keep the records straight, and help people move from point A to point B without making a big deal out of it. It is honest work and it keeps us busy.
