Konkan Railways

Our office is set up on Plot-172 in the Roulki Bakshi Nagar area of Jammu. It might seem a bit far from the actual tracks, but this is where we handle a lot of the behind-the-scenes work for the railway operations in this region. Bakshi Nagar is a well-known residential spot, so having an office here feels a bit more relaxed than being right in the middle of a massive station. We have a few rooms where the engineers and clerks sit and go over plans or schedules. There is usually a pot of tea going somewhere in the back. The walls have a few maps pinned up, but other than that, it is a very plain setup. We get a fair amount of mail and documents delivered here since we act as a hub for certain Konkan Railways activities in J&K. The street outside is usually lined with parked scooters and cars, making it a bit tight sometimes. We don't have a big public counter here for tickets or anything like that, so it’s mostly just staff and people with official business coming through the door. The weather in Jammu can get quite hot in the summers, so we keep the fans running all day while we work through the paperwork. It is a straightforward place where the focus is just on keeping the rail projects moving forward without any unnecessary delays. This is how we operate daily at this specific plot.
