This office is tucked away in Municipality Flat No. 2. It’s right near Dogra Hall on Exchange Road. If you’ve ever walked through that part of Jammu, you know how crowded the streets can get with all the shops and scooters. We handle things for the university from this little spot. It’s an old building, nothing like the new campus buildings you see elsewhere. The walls are thick and it stays relatively cool inside during the peak of summer. We mostly deal with students coming in for forms or checking on their records. There’s always a stack of files on someone’s desk. We try to keep things organized, but sometimes the paperwork piles up when it’s exam season. The neighbors are mostly families or other small offices, so it feels more like a residential area than a school. We go out for lunch at the stalls nearby. The tea here is okay, but we usually bring our own from home. It’s a small team here. We don't have a big fancy lobby. You just walk in and someone is usually there to talk to you. It gets noisy when there's a parade or a function at Dogra Hall. We just keep our heads down and get the work done. It’s a simple setup for a big institution. We try to help everyone who walks through the door, even when we are busy with the end-of-month filing.
