The Jammu & Kashmir Tourism Development Coproation has its office in Government Flat Number 12 at Last More in the Gandhi Nagar area of Jammu. Being in a government flat means the office has a very specific feel to it, with those heavy wooden desks and old-fashioned filing cabinets you see everywhere in public departments. Gandhi Nagar is a nice part of town, and being at Last More makes it easy for people to find us. We deal with tourism development, which mostly means a lot of paperwork, planning, and meetings about various projects across the state. It’s not all travel and scenery; it’s mostly just regular office work. The rooms are often full of maps and brochures that need to be sent out. We have a small kitchen area where we make tea, and that’s where most of the office gossip happens. The building itself is older and has that solid, government-style construction. It gets busy during the peak tourist seasons when there is more pressure to get things organized, but during the off-season, things are a bit more relaxed. We don't have a lot of fancy technology, just the basics to keep things moving along. Working here feels like being part of the local furniture because we’ve been in this flat for quite a while. We see the same people walking their dogs or going to the market every day outside. It’s a very local, Jammu way of doing business.
