Our office is tucked away in Santipara, Jalpaiguri. It’s actually located at Subhas Chandra Roy's place, care of Monomohan Roy. Most people in the neighborhood know the house so it isn't hard to find. It's a quiet part of town but we stay busy with the futures business. Nyagrodhah Futures started because there was a need for this kind of work in the area. We aren't some high-rise firm from a big city. We work right here where we live and eat. Sometimes the internet is slow or the power goes out for a bit, but we manage. We handle a lot of numbers and tracking on the computers. It gets intense during the day when the markets are active. We usually have a few tea breaks to stay sharp and talk things over. Jalpaiguri is a nice place to work from. The 735101 area is familiar to us and we’ve known the neighbors for years. It's not a formal setting with suits and ties. We dress comfortably and focus on the screens. Dealing with futures takes a lot of attention. We don't have a big receptionist or anything like that. If you come by, you'll probably just see us at our desks working away. It’s a straightforward operation. We just do the work that needs doing every day. Sometimes we stay late when things get complicated. The local market in Jalpaiguri has its own rhythm and we just follow it.
