Khedekarpatil Farmer Producer Company Limited

We are located in Shivni, which is out in the Jalna district. The company is run from Asaram Gyanubhau’s place. Like a lot of people in this part of Maharashtra, we are focused on farming. A group of us from the village and nearby areas decided to put our resources together. It’s easier to buy things like fertilizer or sell our harvest when we are a larger group. We don't have a big staff, just a few of us who take turns handling the administrative stuff. The office is pretty basic, just a place to keep the records and meet when we need to make a decision. Jalna can be a tough place to farm because of the water situation sometimes, so we spend a lot of time talking about that. We aren't trying to be some big national corporation. We just want to make sure the families here in Shivni can keep their farms running. It’s a lot of early mornings and late nights, especially during harvest time. We don't really use any fancy language to describe what we do. We are just farmers who decided to organize together for once. Most days you can find us either in the fields or at the house talking about the next season and the prices. It’s a simple way to work, but it seems to be doing the trick for us.
