We have a very long name, Shree Krishn Balram Haldhari Swadeshigram Producer Company Limited, but we don't really use it much when we are talking to each other. It is just easier to say we are the ones working the land. Our spot is a regular place where we store some of our things and keep our records. Kadaura is the kind of place where you can hear the birds in the morning and the tractors all day long. We focus on the old ways of doing things, the swadeshi way, because that is what our fathers and grandfathers did. We don't trust the big fancy machines or the chemicals as much as we trust the soil itself. We spend a lot of time sitting around Rajendra's place drinking water and discussing the next harvest. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we just sit in the dark and talk. It is a very human way to run a business. We don't have any promotional flyers or advertisements in the newspaper. If people need us, they know where to find us. We are just part of the village, doing what needs to be done to keep the grain moving and the families fed. We stay busy and we stay together, which is enough.
