Orchadheesh Krushi Vikas Farmer Producer Company Limited is based over at Nirpat Lal’s in Marha, Gursarai. We are a collection of farmers from the local area who felt like we needed to stick together to get things done. Farming around Gursarai is not always easy, especially when the weather does not cooperate or the costs of everything keep going up. We are not a big corporation with people in suits. We are just the same people you see out in the fields every day, wearing old clothes and covered in dirt. We started this group because we wanted to have a bit more control over our own work. Usually, we gather around Marha to discuss what needs to be done for the upcoming season. It is very informal. We talk about things like which crops are doing well and how we can help each other out with equipment. We do not have any fancy goals other than just making a decent living and keeping our farms healthy. It is about the daily grind and making sure the work gets done right. Sometimes we make mistakes, but we learn from them and keep moving. We have all lived here a long time, and we care about this community. Working together as a producer company just seemed like the most practical way to handle things. We are not trying to change the world, just trying to make sure the farmers in Gursarai have a fair shot at a good harvest.
