Palera Ajeevika Mahila Kisan Producer Company Limited is mostly about the women farmers here in Palera Town. We operate out of C/O Shri Ram Kumar Kheriya, Palera Townpalera. It’s a local group where we try to manage our farming work more effectively. Living in a town like Palera, you realize that women do a huge amount of the work in the fields but don’t always have a say in the business side. We wanted to change that. We aren't some professional organization with suits. We are just neighbors who work the land. Sometimes we meet up to discuss what to plant or how to deal with the local markets. It’s a bit messy sometimes, trying to coordinate everyone, but we manage somehow. There’s always someone coming or going at our office. We just wanted a way to make sure our families are taken care of. Farming is what we know, and doing it as a group makes us feel a bit more secure. We don't use fancy words to describe what we do. We just grow our crops and try to sell them for a fair price. It is hard work, especially when the rains don't come on time or the market prices drop. But being together helps us stay positive. We are just women from the village trying to make a decent living and keep our traditions going while also trying a few new things to help our farms. It takes a lot of effort every day, but we are proud of the work we do here.
