Vinod Traders

Vinod Traders is right on Tonk Road. If you know the area, you know how much traffic passes by here every single hour. The shop front gets a lot of dust from the vehicles, so we spend a lot of time wiping things down. We deal in various goods and supplies that people need for their daily business. It is a straightforward operation. I get here early to open the shutters and check the inventory. There are stacks of crates and boxes throughout the space. We don't have a lot of bells and whistles here. It is just a place where trade happens. I’ve been working on Tonk Road for many years and I've seen the buildings grow taller and the road get wider. My desk is near the front so I can see who is coming in. We use a heavy ledger to keep track of some things, though we have a computer now too. It's often noisy with the trucks rumbling past, but you get used to it after a week. Sometimes the neighbors come in for a chat and a glass of water. We know most of the other traders nearby. We handle the lifting and the moving of stock ourselves most days. It keeps us busy and the day goes by fast when there are orders to fill. We don't do much advertising; people just know we are here on the main road and they stop by when they need something specific for their work.
