Village Craft

Our workshop, Village Craft, is located in the Mansarover Industrial Area at G-198. It is a dusty part of town with lots of trucks moving around, but inside our unit, it is mostly just the sound of tools hitting wood and metal. We started this place because we wanted to keep making things the way they used to be made in the villages. Most of the guys working here come from small towns and they brought their skills with them. We do not have big machines that do everything automatically. Instead, it is a lot of manual labor and sweat. The floor is usually covered in shavings and scraps, and it can get pretty loud during the day. We make various items, mostly things for homes or small shops. It isn't always perfect, as hand-made things often have small marks or uneven edges, but that is just part of it. We spend a lot of time sourcing the raw materials from local suppliers. Sometimes the shipments are late, which slows us down, but we manage. We are not a big corporation, just a group of people who know how to work with their hands. Most days we are just focused on finishing the orders that are piled up on the benches. It is hard work, but it keeps us going and gives us something to be proud of at the end of the day. The heat in the industrial area can be tough in summer, but we just drink plenty of water and keep at it.
