We have been running Ashokas for quite some time now over at Raisar Plaza in Indira Bazar. If you know the area, you know how crowded it gets, especially on the weekends when everyone is looking for electronics or computer parts. Our shop is at B-35-36, which isn't the biggest space, but we make it work with all the stock we keep tucked away in the corners. Most days it is just us handling the walk-ins and trying to keep the shelves organized, which is harder than it looks when people are constantly coming in and out. The plaza itself is a bit of a maze, but we like being right in the middle of all that energy. Sometimes the power goes out for a second and the whole building gets noisy with generators, but that is just part of doing business here. We don't have any fancy decorations or a big reception area because we use every inch for the actual goods. Usually, one of us is busy on the phone while the other helps someone at the counter. It is a loud, busy place and there is always some cardboard box that needs moving or a customer asking for something we just sold. We just show up every morning, open the shutters, and get to it. It is honest work and we have gotten to know the other shopkeepers around us pretty well over the years.
