Art & Frame

Our shop, Art & Frame, is on Girdhar Marg in Malviya Nagar, at number 41. If you come inside, the first thing you’ll notice is the smell of cut wood and maybe some glue. We have frames leaning against almost every wall. It’s a bit of a squeeze to walk around sometimes because we have so many different moldings and glass sheets sitting out. We spend most of our day measuring things and trying to get the corners to line up perfectly. It’s a lot of fiddly work with small nails and hanging wires. Sometimes customers bring in old photos that are falling apart, and we have to be really careful not to damage them further. Malviya Nagar is a busy spot, so there’s always noise from the street coming through the front door. We have a big workbench in the back where all the actual assembly happens. It’s covered in sawdust most of the time, no matter how much we sweep. We aren't a big chain store, just a local framing place. Our windows are usually full of examples of stuff we’ve put together, like mirrors or oil paintings. It’s just me and a couple of others here. We don't have any fancy sales pitch; we just take your picture, find a frame that looks okay, and put it together. That’s pretty much the whole story of what happens here.
