The Sheet Music Academy

If you come down to Nirman Nagar Vinoba Marg, you will find us at Janpath D 51. The Sheet Music Academy is basically just a few rooms filled with music stands and a lot of printed papers scattered around on the desks. It is usually pretty quiet in the mornings until the kids start showing up after their regular school is over. Then it gets quite loud with different sounds coming from behind every door. We spend a lot of time just organizing the folders and making sure the instruments are in the right place. The building itself is pretty standard for this part of the city and the light in the hallway is a bit dim sometimes. There is a small tea shop just down the street where we usually go when there is a break between sessions. On Vinoba Marg, there is always some construction or something going on, so we have to keep the front door shut to keep the noise out. It is not a very corporate-looking place, more like a lived-in space where everything is a bit worn out but functional. We have some old posters on the wall that have been there for years and some of the chairs have a bit of a wobble to them. It is just a practical place for people who want to spend time with their music and not worry about much else. Most people just walk here from the neighborhood and we know most of the faces that come through.
