Slasar Jerry Stores

You can find us at 499 Thaker Pachivar Ka Rasta, which is right in the middle of the Ramganj Bazar area. If you’ve ever been to this part of town, you know how narrow the streets are and how many people are always rushing around. Slasar Jerry Stores has been in this spot for quite a long time. We sell all kinds of things that people need for their homes or for small projects. The shelves go all the way up to the ceiling, and I usually have to use a shaky old ladder to reach the stuff at the top. It’s dusty and the fans don't always do a good job of keeping the heat out during the summer months. We don't really have a system for where things go, but I somehow know where every single item is hidden. Customers come in and ask for the strangest things, and usually, we have it somewhere in a drawer. The bazar is very loud with the sounds of scooters and people shouting, so we have to talk pretty loud ourselves. We open early in the morning when the other shopkeepers are just rolling up their shutters. It’s a lot of standing on your feet all day and dealing with people who want to haggle over a few rupees. But that’s just how business is done in Ramganj, and we’re used to it by now. It's just a normal shop in a busy market.
