Shyam Moorti Palace

We have been here at 4th Cross in Khejron Ka Rasta for a long time now. Most people know us for the marble work and the statues we make every day at Shyam Moorti Palace. It’s a busy little spot, and honestly, there is always dust on everything because we are constantly carving or polishing something. The work is loud, but that’s just how it goes when you’re working with stone. We spend most of our mornings getting the blocks ready and then the afternoon is for the finer details on the faces. My father started this and now we just keep it going. Khejron Ka Rasta is a narrow place so sometimes getting the bigger pieces out on a truck is a real headache. You have to time it right or the whole street gets blocked up. We aren't doing anything fancy here, just making moortis like we always have. Sometimes the weather makes the stone hard to work with, especially when it's too hot out, but we stay busy. People come from all over the city to see what we’ve finished. Usually, we have a few pieces sitting out front so people can see the quality of the marble. It isn't a showroom like you see in the big malls, just our workshop where the floors are white with stone powder. We just try to get the work done right and move on to the next order. It’s simple work, but it keeps us busy from morning till sun down.
