About Shree Ganpati – Housewares & Supplies in Jaipur
Our place is in Subhash Nagar, spanning across units D-14, 15, 16, and 17. Having four blocks next to each other gives us a fair bit of room to operate, which is necessary for what we do at Shree Ganpati. Subhash Nagar is a decent area, mostly quiet compared to the main markets, but we still get plenty of visitors throughout the week. We use the different sections for different parts of the business. One area might be full of stock while another is where we handle the paperwork and talk to folks who come in. It’s a bit of a maze sometimes if you aren't used to it. We don't have any big signs or flashy lights. Most people find us because they live nearby or heard about us from someone else. The day starts with opening up all the shutters one by one. It’s a routine we’ve had for years. We keep a small shrine for Ganpati near the entrance, and someone always lights the incense in the morning. It makes the air smell nice for a little while before the smell of the city takes over. We spend a lot of time just managing the space and making sure everything is where it should be. It’s a straightforward way to run things. We aren't trying to be anything we aren't. We just show up, do the work at D-14 through 17, and then head home when the sun goes down. It is a long day but it is good work.
