Sham A Darbar

You can find Sham A Darbar on M D Road in the Adarsh Nagar area. It’s a busy part of town and the street is always full of people and rickshaws. Our place isn't very large, but we make use of the space we have. We do a lot of traditional cooking here, mostly stuff with gravy and fresh bread. The tandoor stays hot all day long, and the person working it has a tough job standing in that heat. We have some basic seating inside, nothing too comfortable, just wooden chairs and tables that have seen a lot of use over the years. The walls have a few old photos and the lighting is a bit dim, which gives it a certain feel. It’s the kind of place where you come for the food rather than the decor. We don’t have a website or any of that. Most of our customers are people who live in Adarsh Nagar or work in the shops nearby. They come in for a quick lunch or pick up something to take home for dinner. Sometimes the service is a bit slow when the kitchen gets backed up, but we try to move as fast as we can. It’s just a regular local joint on M D Road where we keep the fires going and the plates moving.
