You can find Sanjivan Garments & Crafts at Johari Bazar, number 53. Being in Johari Bazar means we are surrounded by a lot of history and a lot of tourists. Our shop is a mix of clothes and handmade items that have been part of this area for generations. It is a narrow building, typical of this part of the city, so we have things hanging from the walls and the ceiling to make use of every inch. I spend my mornings sweeping the front and making sure the crafts are displayed where people can see the details. Some of the items we have are quite old-fashioned, which is exactly what some people are looking for. The street outside is famous for its jewelry and buzz, and we are just one small part of that big picture. It gets very busy during festival seasons, and sometimes the whole shop feels like it is bursting at the seams. I like talking to the people who wander in from different parts of the country. My English isn't perfect, but we manage to understand each other well enough. We don't have a big marketing budget or anything like that. We just rely on the fact that we have been here at number 53 for a long time. It is a busy life, but I wouldn't know what to do with myself if I wasn't here at the bazar every day.
