Sagar Battery Industries

Out in the Jhotwara Industrial Area at Sarna Dungar, things are a bit different at Sagar Battery Industries. This is a place of heavy work. We deal with big lead-acid batteries and industrial power setups. The air always has that faint metallic smell of an industrial zone. It’s not a shop where people just wander in; mostly it’s trucks arriving to load up or unload heavy wooden crates. I spend my day in a small office on the side or out on the floor checking the production and storage. It’s noisy because of the machinery nearby and the constant hum of the industrial estate. The walls are a bit stained and the floor is rough concrete, but it’s a functional space. We have stacks of battery casings and plates waiting to be assembled. It’s a lot of manual labor and keeping track of technical specs. My desk is usually covered in logbooks and shipping orders. The sun beats down on the metal roof in the afternoon, making it pretty hot inside despite the big exhaust fans. We drink a lot of water and keep moving. It’s a tough environment but someone has to make the batteries that keep everything else running. Being in Sarna Dungar means we are surrounded by other factories, so there's a real sense of hard work all around us.
