Our shop is at number 17 on Sikar Road, and you’ll usually see a bunch of old batteries sitting out front on the pavement. We deal with all sorts of battery issues, whether it’s for a small bike or a big truck. The place usually smells like acid and lead, and my hands are almost always black from the grease and terminals. We have chargers humming in the back all day long. People pull up on the side of the road when their vehicle won't start, and we have to test things out to see if the battery is dead or if it’s the alternator. It’s a lot of heavy lifting, moving those lead blocks around. Sikar Road is always busy with trucks, so we get a lot of drivers stopping by when they have electrical trouble. We have a small bench where customers can sit while we charge their battery or fix a wire. It’s not a clean job, and the floor is stained with all sorts of spills from over the years. We just keep the tools we need and a stock of new units for when someone needs a replacement. I’ve been working with these things since I was a teenager, so I can usually tell what’s wrong just by looking at the corrosion on the terminals. We don't do anything else, just battery care and some basic electrical work for vehicles.
