Our office is tucked away in C Scheme on Ramesh Marg, at H410. It’s a nice enough area with a bit more shade than the rest of the city. The building is older, and we’ve got several rooms filled with UPS units and heavy battery packs. They take up a lot of space and they are quite heavy to move around. Most of our work involves waiting for the phone to ring when someone’s power goes out or their backup system stops working. We have a few technicians who are always out on their scooters, going from one house to another. Inside, it’s mostly the sound of the air conditioner and the low hum of the testing units. We have a small kitchen in the back where we make lunch. The walls are covered in some old calendars and charts about voltage. It’s not the kind of place where you’d find fancy furniture or carpets. Everything is practical. We have been in C Scheme for a while now, so we know the local streets and the shortcut lanes pretty well. The traffic on Ramesh Marg can get a bit much in the evenings, but it's usually fine. We just keep track of the inventory and try to make sure we have the right parts when a call comes in. It’s a steady kind of business, nothing too fast, just keeping the lights on for other people when the grid fails them.
