Sable Farmers Producer Company Limited

Our office is near Ajmer Road on Chitrakoot Road in Tagore Nagar. It is more of a workspace for the collective than a fancy corporate office. Being a farmers producer company means we deal with a lot of paperwork and coordination between the different growers in the region. We have desks piled with folders and sometimes bags of grain samples sitting in the corner. The ceiling fan hums all day while we talk to people on the phone or meet in person. Tagore Nagar is a quiet enough spot compared to the main highway. We spend time looking at crop reports and figuring out logistics for transport. It is hard work because farming depends so much on the weather and things change fast. Sable Farmers Producer Company Limited was set up to help everyone get a better handle on the market. We don't have fancy decorations, just some calendars on the wall and a water cooler. People come in wearing their work clothes, often dusty from the fields or the road. We sit around the main table and discuss prices and seeds. It feels more like a community gathering than a business meeting most of the time. The tea stalls nearby do a good trade because we send out for chai at least three times a day. It is practical work and we focus on getting the tasks done so the farmers can get back to their land. We just try to keep things organized and fair for everyone involved.
